F96 testing is necessary every four years and provides a record of ‘test’, ‘test and examination’, or ‘test and thorough examination’ of lifting plant and equipment. We work to the British Standard code of practice for safe use of cranes, BS 7121-2:2003.
Testing is carried out at our site at Bourn Airfield, The Broadway, Bourn, Cambridgeshire CB23 2TQ, where we have the capacity to test any size of crane from as small as a 15ton Iron Fairys to a massive 1200ton AK912.
Our work isn’t restricted to mobile cranes – we can also test cherry pickers, lorry platforms, hiabs and work with a local manufacturing company testing lifting eyes. And thanks to our large stock of test weights, we are able to test dock cranes, crawlers and tower cranes on site.
When a crane has undergone a major repair, we can carry out a proof test to supplement the four-year test which is valid until the F96 test is due.
We have a wide range of test weights, cradles and associated equipment at our disposal. Weights are available in a multitude of different shapes and sizes to ensure an accurate testing weight.
Test weights, cradles, chains and slings are fully certificated and can be hired by independent organisations who wish to carry out their own tests. For your convenience we work closely with an experienced local transport company to arrange deliveries of weights directly to your premises, wherever they are in the country.
We can quote for testing or weight hire on request, and have experienced staff on hand to give advice on the equipment or configurations you need.
